Save Granite Bay |

A collection of Uhler quotes and our response: |
Uhler Says: |
The Truth is: |
I do not support more commercial development on Douglas Blvd |
The Developers have requested many Douglas Blvd re-zones and they are being considered by County Staff (Uhler has done and said nothing to halt or resist this process) |
I support reducing the Granite Bay build-out cap from 29,000 to 23,000 |
Planning Director Michael Johnson says “that's not possible.” Uhler has done nothing to promote this change. |
“I am against spot zoning” |
Uhler recently orchestrated the first ever spot re-zone in Granite Bay, converting 700' of Douglas Frontage from 300' scenic setback to commercial just west of Lake Center. Indeed, most of the proposed Community Plan changes are “spot” rezones. |
“The Board of Supervisors made me do it” |
In reality he had to sell the costly idea to the BOS at a time when the County Budget was under severe stress. |
“This letter shows that the State Requires the Granite Bay Community Plan Update and the State will sue us if we don't do it and that will cost more than the Update” |
The letter from the State applies only to the County General Plan and has no direct implications for the Granite Bay Community Plan. The County General Plan changes could impact the Granite Bay Community Plan, but that will be known only when that plan is updated. In any event, the letter says just three elements of the County General Plan been to be reviewed to bring it into conformance. No overhaul of any Plan is warranted. See the letter here. |
